Important note regarding membership renewal…

If you were a club member for the 2019 calendar year and wish to renew for 2020 please login to your existing membership account first.  This can be accomplished by clicking the login link on the homepage.  If you forgot your password, no need to worry, simply click the forgot password link on the login page.  A password reset link will be emailed to you.  If you can’t remember which email you used for your account login simply contact Chris Clement (k7ctc@icloud.com) and he will be happy to assist.  Once logged in you will be taken directly to your account page.  From here, please click on the subscriptions link and you will see an option to resubscribe for club membership.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding renewal of your club membership for 2020, please do not hesitate to contact Chris Clement or any club officer and we will be happy to assist.

We are proud to offer online account management for your club membership!  If you would like to join BARC, we invite you to point your browser to https://barconline.org/membership and click “Join” for the membership type that works best for you.  We offer family membership for $28/yr for up to four individuals living at the same physical address.  Individual memberships remain at $25/yr.  We are happy to continue offering free student membership to anyone who is enrolled at any institution (K-12 through University) during 2019.  Club membership follows the calendar year (Jan 1st to Dec 31st annually).

All pertinent information and instructions are published on the membership webpage and during the signup process.  No need to worry, we still accept offline payment methods (cash/check) as well.  In addition to offline payment methods, we accept PayPal and all major credit cards.  Rest easy knowing that ABSOLUTELY NO personal financial details are stored on any club managed computer system.

Everyone is pretty familiar with PayPal but might be curious to know how we handle credit/debit card transactions.  We’re glad you asked.  Credit/debit cards are handled by Stripe, an industry leading payment processor.  They take care of the transfer of money and simply tell our web site that you paid.  No one in the club has access to your card number and other sensitive financial details.

Why did we do this?

Our club has experienced substantial growth in recent years (thank you, by the way).  Our processes for handling membership enrollments and payments languished in this growth and unfortunately some details were falling through the cracks (we apologize).  It became clear that we needed a new method for our community to obtain membership and maintain their own personal details with the club.  Hence a complete self service membership management system by way of the club web site.  All new memberships and renewals will be handled by the new system going forward.  No more paper forms to fill out and mail in!

During the month of January, we have had just over 80 members sign up for 2019 club membership using this new web site functionality.  We couldn’t be happier with the results.  The new system puts you in control of your own membership, reduces membership management overhead for the club overall and is super convenient!  We hope you enjoy and we welcome any and all feedback!

We also plan to have a computer available during club meetings and exam sessions for those who wish to join/renew in person.

Chris (K7CTC)
