Elmer Night
What is elmer night?
Need help programming your new radio? Have questions about building a new base or mobile station? Not sure what type of antenna you need? Studying to get or upgrade your license and have questions? Do not worry, these and other questions are what elmer night is all about.
Elmer night is a service provided by the Bridgerland Amateur Radio Club to any and all who find themselves struggling with any aspect of the hobby. It is also an opportunity to meet and socialize with other hams you may have spoken to on-air in a relaxed atmosphere. (In hamspeak we call these “eyeball QSOs”.) Elmer night is about coming together and assisting each other in achieving our goals in this great hobby.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of seasoned amateurs in regular attendance who can provide knowledge and encouragement to those who are in need. You need not be a member of the Bridgerland Amateur Radio Club to attend nor do you even need to have an operating license. Whether you’ve been in the hobby for decades or just received your license we invite you to join us as we all have personal experience worth sharing.
